Rose Powell

Research Assistant | Narratives and Justice

Biography

Rose is a research assistant on ‘AI in the street: scoping everyday observatories for public engagement with connected and automated urban environments’ project.

They are also a PhD student at Newcastle University, in the School of Geography, Sociology and Politics. Their PhD project takes a science and technology studies (STS) approach to investigate the social factors implicated in the design, implementation and use of AI-enabled patient monitoring technologies developed for use in NHS psychiatric services. 

Rose also holds an MSc in Science, Technology and Society from UCL, and a BSc in Global Health and Social Medicine (Neuroscience) from King’s College London.
