COVID-19 Update

In response to COVID-19, and associated government and university directives, all staff at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence will be working remotely until further notice.

We are fortunate in that much of the work we do can be carried out within the current constraining circumstances. Understanding how AI can be used safely, ethically, and for the benefit of all remains our core objective. We believe this work is proving only more critical as the impacts of a global pandemic lead to greater and more experimental uses of automation and machine intelligence, for example, for public healthcare, employment, and civic organisation.

Although many of the events we had planned for this year have been postponed, we will continue carrying out our research as usual, and holding seminars and events online. We are also setting aside dedicated time for responding, in our various capacities, to the specific AI issues arising from the outbreak.

We warmly encourage all of our collaborators and friends, current and future, to stay in touch.  We look forward to seeing you all soon virtually, and in person when the time is right.

Take care,

The CFI Team
